Question 309284: Could you please help me find the answer to -2
Find the value of n for a line that passes through the points a(-7,n) and b(3,-27) and has a slope of -5/2.

Thank you for helping me solve for the answer, I just can't figure this one out!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hint: The slope equation is m=%28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%2F%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29

is the first point . So this means that x%5B1%5D=-7 and y%5B1%5D=n.
Also, is the second point . So this means that x%5B2%5D=3 and y%5B2%5D=-27.

We're given a slope of -5%2F2. So m=-5%2F2. Plug all of this info into the given formula at the top to get

-5%2F2=%28-27-n%29%2F%283--7%29

To make things simpler, you can rewrite 3--7 as 3%2B7 to get

-5%2F2=%28-27-n%29%2F%283%2B7%29

From here, solve the equation for 'n'.
