You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=length of second piece.

So first piece is twice this length --> 2x
and third piece is 6 feet longer than second --> x+6

Together we have 2x + x + x+6 = 24
4x + 6 = 24
4x = 18
x = 18/4
x = 4.5 feet

So first pice = 9 feet
second piece = 4.5 feet
third pice = 10.5 feet

which add up to 24 feet.
