Question 308657: -3(-4x+1)+ 4 =2x-9
Found 2 solutions by ichudov, rapaljer: Answer by ichudov(507) (Show Source): Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! -3(-4x+1)+4=2x-9
12x-3+4=2x-9
12x+1=2x-9
Subtract 2x from each side
12x-2x+1=2x-2x-9
10x+1=-9
Now, subtract 1 from each side:
10x+1-1=-9-1
10x=-10
Divide by 10
x=-1

On my Homepage, look for the link "Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra: One Step at a Time." Then choose "Basic Algebra", then "Chapter 1 and see Section 1.08. I have a complete explanation of equation solving that I think you will find my explanation a lot easier to understand than traditional textbooks. Besides this, many of my exercises are solved IN COLOR in the MATH IN LIVING COLOR pages that go with this.
I have many other topics from Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra that are explained in detail, with many of these topics (but NOT Equation Solving!) explained on video as well. Everything on the website is FREE.
