Question 307972: one side of a triangle is 5 meters longer than the second side. the third side is four times the length of the second side. if the perimeter of a triangle is 65 meters, how long is the second side?
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x= second side
x+5 = first side
4x = third side
x+ x+5 + 4x = 65
x+x+5+4x =65
6x+5=65
6x=60
x=10 Second side
x+5= 15 First side
4x= 40 Third side
Check: 10+15+40=65 Perimeter
