You can put this solution on YOUR website! Roberto invested some money at 7%, and then invested $2000 more than twice this amount at 10%.
His total annual income from the two investments was $3980. How much was invested at 10%?
let the amount invested at 7% be $x
The interest accrued from this will be 0.07x
The amount invested at 10% = 2x+2000
The interest acrued from this will be 0.1(2x+2000)
The total interest he got was $3980
0.07x + 0.1(2x+2000)= 3980
0.07x +0.2x+ 200 = 3980
0.0.27x= 14000
x= 14000 amount invested at 7%
the amount invested at 10% is 2x+2000
2*14000 + 2000= $30000

You can put this solution on YOUR website! .07x+.10(2x+2,000)=3,980
.07x+.20x+200=3,980
.27x=3,980-200
.27x=3,780
x=3,780/.27
x=$14,000 amount invested @ 7%
2*14,000+2,000=28,000+2,000=$30,000 invested @ 10%
Proof:
.07*14,000+.10*30,000=3,980
980+3,000=3,980
3,980=3,980
