Question 30645: (-6,-2);slope= -1/4
They are asking me to write an equation for a line through the given point with the given slope using the Ax+By=C form. Found 2 solutions by Paul, Cintchr:Answer by Paul(988) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! First find the y-intercept
y=-2 and x=-6
Simplfy that:
you get b=-14/4
Now to write it in Ax+By=C form remember that it should not have any negatives in the Ax value or any fraction in the whole equation:
Remove fraction by mulitplying the whole equation by 4 and simplfy:
4y=-x-14
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (-6,-2) slope= -1/4 plug in the known variables solve for b plug b and m back in multiply all parts by 4 to get rid of the fraction add 1x to both sides
