Dimes+Nickels=Total coins
.10D+.05N=2.50
hmm are u missing part of the question cause there are many possible answers if its left in this wording:"Irving’s total cash was only $2.50. Then, how many nickels and dimes would he have?"
if u dont know the amount of coins he has u cant find how many of each coin he has.
i.e. 2.50=25 Dimes or 2.50=50 Nickels
could be 20 dimes and 10 nickels
19 dimes and 12 nickels
18 dimes and 14 nickels
17 dimes and 16 nickels
...
5 dimes and 40 nickels
... and so on
