You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is (5,2) the center? Or a point on the circle?

Line segment CD is tangent to circle Z at (1,7). If Z has coordinates (5,2), find the slope of line segment CD.
-------------------------
CD is perpendicular to the segment containing (1,7) and (5,2)
----
slope = (2-7)/(5-1) = -5/4
------
slope of the tangent must be 4/5
The line passes thru (1,7)
---
Form:
7 = (4/5)1 + b
b = 31/5
---
Equation:
y = (4/5)x + 31/5
