If two angles are complementary, this means that the sum of the two angles equals 90 degrees.

This must mean that
x + x+10 = 90
2x+10 = 90
2x = 80
x = 40
.
So:
mLP = x = 40 degrees
mLq = x+10 = 40+10 =50 degrees
