If n is a negative number, then n%3C0. Now multiply both sides by -1 to get -n%3E0 (notice the sign change). Now simply add two to both sides to get 2-n%3E2. Since 2-n%3E2, this means that 2-n is definitely greater than zero. So 2-n is positive for all negative values of 'n'.
