If (-2,-6) is a solution, then x=-2 and y=-6 should satisfy the given inequality. So just plug the values in to get 2%28-2%29%2B%28-6%29%3C-10. From here, simplify the left side to get a single number. If that number on the left is indeed less than -10, then (-2,-6) is a solution. If not, then (-2,-6) is NOT a solution. I'll let you do that.
