4x=-3y+24

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x=-3y+24 ----(1)
4x+3y-24 =0 ----(I)(change side,then change sign)
This we call the general form of equation to a straight line.
Note: A linear equation in x and y given by
Ax + By +C =0 (where A and B are not simultaneously zero)
is called the general form of equation to a straight line.
Please ask your teacher about standard form.
If (1) is represented as y = (-4/3)x +8 ----(2)
[retaining the y-term on one side and the rest to the other side and then dividing by the coefficient of y through out and when the coefficient of y on one side is 1, the coefficient of x on the other side is the slope of the line and the free constant on the other side is called the y-intercept of the line.
This form (2) above is called the slope and y-intercept form of equation of the line.
Here slope = (-4/3) and y - intercept = 8
