let x be the first number, then the next number- x+1; x+2
so the three cinsecutive numbers would be;
x, x+1, x+2
so we have;

x+x+1+x+2=51
add like terms;
3x+3=51
3x=48
x=16
x+1=17
x+2=18
Find 3 consecutive integers whose sum is -15.
x+x+1+x+2=-15
3x+3=-15
3x=-18
x=-6
x+1=-5
x+2=-4
Find 4 consecutive integers whose sum is 30.
x+x+1+x+2+x+3=30
4x+6=30
4x=24
x=6
