Question 302454: Can someone help me solve this problem? I am doing my homework and can not figure it out. Thanks alot!
15. Solve using the five-step problem-solving process. Show all steps necessary to arrive at your solution.
If an object is thrown upward with an initial velocity of 96 ft/sec, its height after t sec is given by h = 96t - 16t2. Find the number of seconds before the object hits the ground.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
set h =0 and solve for t
0 = 96t - 16t2
factor out t
t*(96-16t)=0
t=0 seconds [the beginning when it is thrown]
96=16t
t=6 seconds [when it hits the ground]
