You can use a ratio to solve this
3%2F8+=+1.25%2Fx
x+=+1.25%2A8%2F3
x+=+3.33333
So x = 3.34

Hello,
We can use proportions to solve this. We set it up like:
3/1.25=8/x
Cross multiply to get:
3x=10
Divide by 3 to get:
x=3.33 dollars (rounded off)
Make sense?
