Question 301597: Evaluate the logarithmic equation for three values of x that are greater than 1, three values of x that are between 0 and 1, and at x = 1. Show your work. Use the resulting ordered pairs to plot the graph. State the equation of the line asymptotic to the graph (if any).

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What are the issues?
What part are you lost on? Please be specific.
It's a pretty straightforward question.
Pick three x values greater than 1: 2,3,4.
Three x values between zero and 1: (1/8),(1/4), (1/2)
Include x=1.
Evaluate the function at those points.
Use a calculator or EXCEL.
x=%281%2F8%29, y=log%285%2F8%29=-0.204
x=%281%2F4%29, y=log%285%2F4%29=+0.097
x=%281%2F2%29, y=log%285%2F2%29=+0.398
x=1, y=log%285%29=+0.699
x=2, y=log%2810%29=+1
x=3, y=log%2815%29=+1.176
x=4, y=log%2820%29=+1.301
Now plot the x-y pairs.

If you look at the graph, there is a limit as x approaches 0 which would be a vertical asymptote at x=0.
That's the only one.
