Question 300818: I'm at a lose here. I've derived an answer but I'm lost as to whether it is correct.
Find the LCD for the given rational expressions, and convert each rational expression into an equivalent rational expression with the LCD as the denominator.
(-3)/(2p^2+7p-15),p/(2p^2-11p+12),2/(p^2+p-20)
1. , ,
2. , ,
3. , ,
4. , ,
5. , ,
I cam up with 5 as my equation had (2p-3)(p+5)(p-4) as the LCD. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! (-3)/(2p^2+7p-15), p/(2p^2-11p+12), 2/(p^2+p-20)
-----------------
(2p^2+7p-15) = (2p - 3)*(p + 5)
(2p^2-11p+12) = (2p - 3)*(p - 4)
(p^2+p-20) = (p + 5)*(p - 4)
-----------------------------
LCD = (2p-3)*(p+5)*(p-4)
Same as your answer.

, ,
, , ,
The first denominator lacks the factor so multiply both its
numerator and denominator by that factor:
, , ,
The second denominator lacks the factor so multiply both its
numerator and denominator by that factor:
, , ,
The third denominator lacks the factor so multiply both its
numerator and denominator by that factor:
, , ,
If you multiply the tops out and rearrange the factors on the
bottoms, you DO get #5.
