we want to get the variable "c" on one side of the "=" sign
8-3c=2c-2ADD 3c to both sides [-3c+3c=0 , 2c+3c=5c]
8=5c-2 add 2 to both sides [8+2=10 , -2+2=0]
10=5c divide each side by 5 [10/5=2 , 5/5=1]
2=c

10 =5c
10/5=5c/5
2 = c
8 - 3c = 2c - 2
8 - 3(2) = 2(2) -2
