Question 298653: If y varies directly as x, and y = 1/3 when x = 4, write an equation for this relationship:
a. y = (4/3)x
b. y = (1/12)x
c. y = (3/4)x
d. y = 4/3x
Would the answer be b or d ? I am guessing b but I am not sure what the difference is between b and d since they seem to produce the same answer.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=4 y=1/3
a. y = (4/3)x
1/3=4/3*4
1/3=16/3 no
b. y = (1/12)x
1/3=1/12*4=4/12
1/3=1/3 maybe
c. y = (3/4)x
1/3=3/4*4
1/3=3 no
d. y = 4/3x
1/3=4/3*4
1/3=1/3
maybe
d is an inverse relationship not direct
leaving b as you wanted
