Question 29724: Would someone please explain factoring to me? For example, the difference of two cubes 8x^3-1, I know that 2x three times makes the first term and the cube of 1 is one-ok now I'm lost. How does this factor? Thank you in advance Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The form you need to know is a^3-b^3=(a-b)(a^2+ab+b^2)
In your case a=2x and b=1
So, you get (2x-1)(4x^2+2x+1)
