%282x+%2B+6%29%2F%282x%5E2+%2B+14x+%2B+24%29 Start with the given expression.

%282%28x+%2B+3%29%29%2F%282x%5E2+%2B+14x+%2B+24%29 Factor the numerator.

%282%28x+%2B+3%29%29%2F%282%28x%2B3%29%28x%2B4%29%29 Factor the denominator.

Highlight the common terms.

Cancel out the common terms.

1%2F%28x%2B4%29 Simplify.

So %282x+%2B+6%29%2F%282x%5E2+%2B+14x+%2B+24%29 simplifies to 1%2F%28x%2B4%29

In other words, %282x+%2B+6%29%2F%282x%5E2+%2B+14x+%2B+24%29=1%2F%28x%2B4%29

Hello,
Let's first rewrite this 2x + 6 / 2x squared + 14x + 24 as:
2x + 6 / 2x^2 + 14x + 24 Both top and bottom and be factored as:
2(x+3)/2(x+3)(x+4) The (x+3) and 2 cancel out to leave us:
1/(x+4)
Make Sense?
