Question 295336: The price of an item triples every 4 years because of inflation. If the price of the item is $5.25 now, what should it be in 6 years?
I am using the formula: A(t)=Ca^kt
So: A(t)=5.25(3)^1/4(6)
The answer I am getting is 23.625 but my answer sheet says the answer is 27.28.
Could you please help me understand what I am doing wrong?
Thank you for your help and I appreciate it.
Tina

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(1/4)(6) is the exponent of 3 ___ remember PEMDAS

A(t) = 5.25 {3^[(1/4)(6)]}
