It takes Nancy 45 min to rake the yard and it takes Johnny 30 min. How long would it take if they work together?
------------
Nancy does 1/45 of the yard per minute.
Johnny does 1/30 per minute.
Together, 1/30 + 1/45 = 75/1350 = 1/18 of the yard/minute
--> 18 minutes/yard
---------------------
Use the shortcut, product/sum
45*30/(45+30) = 1350/75 = 18 minutes
