This question is already factorised,
Therfore, x= -5, -3 --> If you were to substitute any of these values into the equation, you would get y=0
To find vertex:
Expand brackets
y=x%5E2%2B8x%2B15
y=%28x%2B4%29%5E2+-+16+%2B15+
y=%28x%2B4%29%5E2+-+1
The vertex is (-4,-1)
