12x=540
x= 45 in

When calculating ratios use +a%2Fb+=+c%2Fd+ and cross multiply such that ad = bc

+12%2F30+=+18%2Fx+

+12x+=+cross%2830%2A18%29+=+540+
+12x%2F12+=+540+%2F+12+
x = 45 inches
