You can put this solution on YOUR website! a chemist has 6 liters of a 50% acid solution. how much water must be added to obtain a 20% acid solution ?
------------------------------------
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
0.50*3 + 0*x = 0.20(3+x)
---
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
50*3 + 0 = 20*3 + 20x
20x = 30*3
x = (3/2)3
x = 4.5 liters (amount of water needed for the mixture)
