| Question 29029:  1/5 - 4/3M = 2/m
 Answer by sdmmadam@yahoo.com(530)
      (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1/5 - 4/3m = 2/m ----(1) Multiplying through out by 15m
 (3m-20)=30   (how and why 15m?,because the lcm of 5,3m and m is 15m )
 3m = 30+20
 3m =50
 m = 50/3
 Answer: m= 50/3
 Verification: LHS of (1) is
 1/5 - 4/3m
 = 1/5-[4/(3X50/3)]
 =1/5-4/50
 =1/5-2/25
 =(5-2)/25 (combining the two fractions by finding the lcm)
 =3/25
 RHS of (1) is
 2/m  = 2/[(50/3)] = 2X(3/50) = (2X3(/(2X25) = 3/25 = LHS
 Therefore our value for m is correcat
