You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
sin^2x(1+cot^2x)=1 ... Start with the given equation
sin^2x+sin^2x*cot^2x=1 ... Distribute
sin^2x+sin^2x((cos^2x)/(sin^2x))=1 ... Replace cot^2x with (cos^2x)/(sin^2x)
sin^2x+cos^2x=1 ... Multiply and simplify
1 = 1 ... Use the identity sin^2x+cos^2x=1
