You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the number be "x".
EQUATION:
4x+5=2x-7
Subtract 2x from both sides to get:
2x+5=-7
Subtract 5 from both sides to get:
2x=-12
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
x=-6
