Question 288164: I have to complete a 5 step hypothesis on wages earned by union members compared to non-union members. On a sample of 100 people 82 are not union members and 18 are union members. I need to know the level of significance, decision rule (reject the null of the hypothesis), sum of ranks, expected value, standard deviation, corrected for ties, and p-value (two tailed. This is the information provided. I think the level of significance is 18% because out of 100 people 18 are in the union, if I am wrong please tell me.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! That 18 is not the level of significance.
The level of significance for the test is
determined by the person who analyzes the
data.
You could make it 1%, 5%, 10% or any other
percent less than 50.
