You can put this solution on YOUR website!
OK look Big Mama says when dealing with consecutive numbers
we can easily let x be the first, x+1 be the second and on down the line.
so our numbers are going to be x, x+1 and x+2 Understand this. This is important!!!!!
Now we just have to translate the English into math.
x(x+1)-3(x+2)=57
X^2+x-3x-6=57
x^2-2x=63 (stay with me here)
x^2-2x-63=0
(x-9)(x+7)=0
We have two solutions namely 9 and -7
9,10 and 11 AND -7,-6 and -5 Now the' THREE' that win the trophy are probably the 9,10 and 11
Look up the definition of 'consecutive' numbers. I will double check also. Both solutions are in ascending order!! You actually have two sets of answers! But go with the flow and give the 9,10 and 11.
Tell me what you think!!
