Question 287517: in the following exercises, V denotes the vertex of a parabola, F the focus, and D the directrix. Two of these are given. Find the third.
D: y=2, V(2,4)
I really don't get it and I had been studying this in class for two days and i havent done the homework either, I'm really hurting my grade. My teacher just can't explain it very well. Well, for me that is.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the vertex is midway between the focus and the directrix

the focus and the vertex are on the axis of symmetry, which is perpendicular to the directrix

in this case ___ D to V is 2, so V to F will also be 2

F(2,6)
