Question 287483: The football coach randomly selected 10 players and timed how long each player took to perform a certain drill. The time (in minutes) were

6 10 7 9 12
8 10 9 7 5
Find a 95% confidence interval for the population standard deviation
I think
n = 10
x (bar) = 8.3
E x(bar) = 83
E x2 = 729
s = 2.1108 HOWEVER I don't know how to get "s" on a normal non graphing calculator the "s" answer was shown/given to me. Which is useless for my test tomorrow. Thank you for any/all help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
consider an infinite population with a mean of 160 and standard deviation of 25,a random sample size of 64 is taken from this population. the standard deviation of the sample mean equals?
----------
Finding standard deviation can be done with paper and pencil (or with
a calculator with no stat functions) but is a laborious process.
1. Find the mean of the sameple (u)
2. Find the difference between each sample and the mean (x-u)
3. Square all those differences and all the square values .
4. Divide by the number of sample elements
5. The standard deviation is the square root of the number in step 4.
------------------
Note: There are many on-line sites that will give you the
standard deviation for a given set of data.
