Let the equation of the line is (d) y = m*x + k (1)
If the line is paralleled with Oy, the equation will look like: x = k, i.e m is indefinite. However, this is not that case since the given slope: m = 8/9.
So, since m = 8/9, (1) becomes y = (8/9)*x + k
Since point (4;-9) is on the line (d), therefore the coordinates of the given point must satisfy the equation of line (d) i.e: -9 = (8/9)*4 + k or k = -9 - 32/9 = -113/9.
