Question 284906: Please help me solve this equation: f(x)=-5x^2+50x
Answer by nyc_function(2741) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve it in what way?
Do you have additional information?
What you have posted isn't enough.
Write back........................

You said:
"The height in meters of a ball can be modeled by the function f(x)=-5x^2+50x, where x is the time in seconds after it is hit.
All other informaton sorry."
==================================
There isn't enough information but I believe you need to find x.
Let f(x) = 0 and solve for x
0 = -5x^2 + 50x
0 = 5x(-x + 10)
5x = 0
x = 0/5
x = 0....I think this is the time before the ball is dropped.
-x + 10 = 0
-x = -10
x = -10/-1
x = 10 seconds. It will take the ball 10 seconds to hit the ground after it is dropped.
Is this what you seeK?
