Question 282899: I am having problems trying to figure this problem. I am not sure if I have to multiply the diagonal meter by the lengths of the sides.
Problem:
One side of a rectangular stage is 2 meters longer than the other. If the diagonal is 10 meters, then what are the lengths of the sides? Found 2 solutions by user_dude2008, Alan3354:Answer by user_dude2008(1862) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Call the lengths of the sides s and s+2
(s + 8)*(s - 6) = 0
s = -8 (Ignore)
--------------
s = 6 meters
The 2nd side = 8 meters
