Question 282892: Solve. Define the variables and give an equation using the variable.
A ball is dropped from the top of a 576ft. building. Its height h(t) at time t seconds is given by h(t)=-16t^2+576. Determine how long it takes the ball to hit the ground.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The formula is given.
Let h(t) = 0
Then 0 = -16t^2 + 576
Now, solve for t.
I will bring everything to the left side to delete the negative in front of the 16t^2.
16t^2 - 576 = 0
16t^2 = 576
t^2 = 576/16
t^2 = 36
t = square root of 36
t = 6 seconds
