Question 281926: x^3-3x^2-10x+24
ok i know you use synthetic division
and you get1,-1,and -12

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the question?
You presented the expression x^3-3x^2-10x+24
but you didn't say what you want to do with it.
and yes it does factor to (x-2)(x+3)(x-4)
since your result was 1,-1,-12
Perhaps you were trying to divide (x-2) into x^3-3x^2-10x+24 and got 1,-1,-12 which stands for x^2-x-12 which can be factored into (x+3)*(x+4)
I will show you long division not synthetic. it is basically the same but with fewer things shown and some things reversed.
I hope the formatting comes I am using .. for space fillers
..............x^2.-x.-12
x-2 into x^3-3x^2-10x+24
........ x^2-2x^2
.............-x^2-10x
.............-x^2 +2x
.................-12x+24
.................-12x+24
