In order to solve this equation, you need to get everything on one side:
x%5E2+%2B+2x+-+143+=+0
We need to find two numbers that add up to be positive 2 and multiply to be 143. 143 is 13 * 11 which is a coincidence because those are two apart from each other.
We get

Using zero product principle, we know that

highlight+%28x+=+11%29
or
