Third: x2 – 5x – 14
Thanks You have been a great help Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1st: common factor of "x"
Rewrite as x(x^2-26x+48)
Factor the quadratic as (x-2)(x-24)
Final answer x(x-2)(x-24)
2nd: ac = Product of 3 and -8 = -24
b=-2
Find two numbers whose product is ac and whose sum is b
Numbers are -6 and 4
Rewrite original problem as follows:
3x^2-6x+4x-8
Factor the 1st two terms and the last two terms separately to get:
3x(x-2)+4(x-2)
Factor again to get:
(x-2)(3x+4)
