This is the equation I came up with:
2x+%2B+6+=+72
6 more ~ adding 6
twice as many ~ 2x
72 games total
Now, get x by itself by subtracting the 6 from the left side to the right side of the equation:
2x+=+72+-6
2x+=+66

To get x by itself completely, divide 2 on both sides:
2x%2F2=66%2F2
x+=+33
