Question 279808: I know the hypotenuse is 25 in. I know the base to height ratio is 3 : 4. How do I find the lenght of base and height? Found 2 solutions by JBarnum, richwmiller:Answer by JBarnum(2146) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
list same ratios and put in the equation
to find equivalent ratios multiply both numbers by the same number
3:4
6:8 (i multiplied 3:4 by 2)
9:12 (i multiplied 3:4 by 3)
12:16 (i multiplied 3:4 by 4)
15:20 (i multiplied 3:4 by 5)
hey we found 625 so the lengths have to be 15 and 20
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (3x)^2+(4x)^2=25^2
9x^2+16x^2=625
25x^2=625
x^2=25
x=5
3x=15 base
4x=20 height
the base and height are 15 and 20
