You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hello,
Let's use the substitution method like this:
8x+3y=152.50
6x+2y=113
Multiply the first equation by 2 and the second equation by -3. We'll eliminate the y this way. So we get:
16x+6y=305
-18x-6y=-339
Now, add both of these equations to get:
-2x=-34 Divide both sides by -2 to get:
x=17
Now we can plug 17 into the first equation to get:
136+3y=152.5 Subtract 136 from both sides and divide it by 3 to get:
y=5.5
There we go! Make sense?
