70 is the middle number
68,69,70,71,72
5*70=350
since (70-2)+(70+2)=2*70
70-1+70+1=2*70
2*70+2*70+70=5*70=350
350 is the sum

If the median of 5 consecutive integers is 70, the numbers have to be 68, 69, 70, 71, and 72. Quite obviously the mean must also be 70, hence the sum must be 350.
