You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let a= weight of truck
letb= weight of trailer
given:
(1) a%2Bb+=+7000
b+=+%281%2F2%29+%2Aa+-+200
2b+=+a+-+400
(2) a+-+2b+=+400
subtract (2) from (1)
(1) a%2Bb+=+7000
(2) -a+%2B+2b+=+-400
3b+=+6600
b+=+2200
and
(1) a%2Bb+=+7000
a+%2B+2200+=+7000
a+=+4800
The truck weighs 4800 lbs and the trailer weighs 2200 lbs

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Truck + Trailer = 7000 lbs.
Truck = x
Trailer = 0.5x - 200
(x) + (0.5x - 200) = 7000
1.5x = 7200
x = 7200/1.5
x = 4800 truck's weight
0.5(4800) - 200 = 2200 trailer's weight
