You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a theater has 65O seats . after one sell-out performance , the theater made $ 11,6OO. if main floor seats cost $20.OO each and balcony seats cost $12.OO , how many floor seats and how many balcony seats are there in the theater?
Total number of seats = 650
Let the number of main floor seats be x
The number of balcony seats will be 650 - x
The value of nain floor seats = 20 * x
The value of blacony seats is 12*(650-x)
The sum of both the amounts = the collection = $11.600

20x+12*(650-x)=11600
20x+7800 - 12x = 11600
8x= 11600 -7800
8x= 3800
x= 3800/8
x= 475 seats in the main floor
650-475= 175 seats in the balcony.
