Let the width be x
The length is 5 feet more than width = x+6
The perimeter ofthe rectangle is given by 2L + 2*W
2(x+5) +2x =46
2x+10+2x= 46
4x+10=46
4x=46-10
4x=36
x=36/4 = 9 feet is the width
Length = 46-2*9 / 2 = 14 feet
