You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A car has a speed 12 miles/hour faster than a truck. If the car travels 175 in the same time the truck travels 145 miles, what is the speed of the truck?
let ths speed of the truck be x
the car's speed will be x+12 mph
Time taken by truck to travel 145 miles = 145/x
Time taken by car to travel 175 miles = 175/ x+12
These times are same
145/x= 175 / x+112
145(x+12) = 175x

145x+1740 = 175x
175x-145x= 1740
30x=1740
x=58 which is the speed of the truck
