2(2x - 3) - 5(x + 1) - 2x + 7 = 0
4x - 6 - 5x - 5 - 2x - 7 = 0
4x - 5x -2x = 3x
- 6 - 5 -7 = - 18
3x - 18 = 0
3x = 18
x = 18/3
x = 6
The answer key says it is - 4/3
Where did I go wrong? I can not see where. Can you?
Please show me all these steps so I can understand where I went wrong and why.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve for x: 2(2x - 3) - 5(x + 1) = 2x - 7
2(2x - 3) - 5(x + 1) = 2x - 7
4x - 6 - 5x - 5 = 2x - 7
4x - 5x - 2x = 6 + 5 - 7
-x - 2x = 11 - 7
-3x = 4
x = -4/3
I see this in your attempt: "4x - 5x -2x = 3x" that should be -3x not 3x.
Also in "- 6 - 5 -7 = - 18" that should be -6 - 5 + 7 or -11 + 7 = -4.
So -3x - 4 = 0 --> -3x = 4 --> x=-4/3.
