Question 273159: Find the value(s) of x so that the distance between the points A(3, 5) and B(x, 8) is 5 units.
i have tried using the distance formula AB = (x2 – x1)2 + (y2 – y1)2 with a square root on all of the equation and substituting the values and working back using the balance method, but I got the wrong answer.
the answer is 7 or -1. How can I solve this question?
